The person who inspects a vehicle does not consign it and does not sell it. That single separation is what makes an announcement worth anything.
What we will not do
- Buy vehicles for our own account, or bid on lots in our own sales.
- Take a vehicle without a title or a documented route to one.
- Use a consignor's own condition report in place of ours.
- Hide a no-sale. Every outcome is published with its number.
- Run a vehicle under a description we cannot support. We would rather decline the consignment.

Four desks
There are no staff photographs or biographies on this site. Putting a stock photograph of a stranger under an invented name and job title is the sort of thing a demonstration should not do, so we describe the work instead of inventing the people.
The rostrum
Reads the announcements aloud on every lot, including the ones with none, and takes only bids that exist.
Consignor desk
Entries, reserves, catalogue copy and settlement. Will tell a consignor when a reserve is a mistake.
The yard
Intake, storage, gate passes and titles. The department that says no when a title has not arrived.

What this site actually is
Crossblock Motor Auction Co. is an invented business, built to demonstrate a website design. There is no auction, no yard, no rostrum and nobody to call.
- The vehicles do not exist. Lot descriptions, grades, estimates, hammer prices and bid counts are sample copy. Photographs are licensed stock images and are not the vehicles described.
- The VINs are impossible. Every one begins QOQ and contains the letters O and Q, which never appear in a real vehicle identification number, so none of them can match a real car.
- The phone number is fiction. It sits in the 555-01xx block reserved in the North American numbering plan for drama, and the email is on the reserved
.exampledomain. - There is no address. No street, no coordinates, no map embed. A city and a ZIP place the business without pointing at somebody's building.
- No licence numbers. Inventing an auctioneer or dealer licence number in a real registry format could collide with a working business, so this site states the omission instead.
- No forms work. Every form confirms and stores nothing. There is no backend behind any of them.
